Congratulations to EDST PhD student Brett Schrewe, one of two UBC students awarded a 2017 Pierre Elliott Trudeau doctoral scholarship.

This prestigious scholarship is awarded by The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation to outstanding scholars in the humanities and social sciences. Through a humanities lens, Brett searches for synergy between his clinical experience and the social determinants of health. As a practicing pediatrician, Brett’s research considers the physician as medical citizen, with the goal of re-positioning medical expertise to ensure the equitable delivery of health care, regardless of the patient’s circumstances.

Brett is the 23rd UBC student to receive this award, and the first from Educational Studies.

More information about this scholarship can be found here, and a full profile on Brett can be found here.
