Congratulations to Dr. Vanessa Andreotti, Associate Professor in Educational Studies and Canada Research Chair in Race, Inequalities and Global Change, for being awarded a $90,000 Mitacs Accelerate grant to support her proposal to examine and expand frames of understanding between communities engaged in social innovation projects in Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Germany and Brazil. The research will use the methodology known as social cartography. Social cartographies are effective tools for research and practitioner teams to map tensions, paradoxes and power relations at the intersection of different intellectual communities in ways that are productive, creative and generative.
The Mitacs’ Accelerate program supports university-non-profit/industry innovation through paid graduate student internships and funds for research expenses. The particular award is co-funded by Mitacs and the Musagetes Foundation and supports an internship for Dr. Rene Suša, Postdoctoral Fellow in EDST.
