Resolves complex problems related to graduate student in consultation with graduate advisor or supervisor.
Coordinates all aspects of graduate program admissions, including the selection process and bringing cases requiring special adjudication to an admissions committee for determination.
Advises prospective students on issues such as requirements for admission, immigration documentation, and employment authorization.
Manages and explains the admissions appeal process.
Follows up on student awards by processing documentation and ensuring students receive awards.
Performs administrative duties such as composing complex correspondence and reports; preparing agendas, taking, transcribing and distributing minutes of GPACC, PhD Admissions and Management Committees, and Scholarship and Fellowship Committee; preparing student files, overseeing storage, retrieval, and destruction of archival materials, and developing and maintaining promotional material for the program.
Responds to a variety of written, e-mail, and oral inquiries of an interpretive nature.
Refers students to appropriate University faculty, department, and service offices as required.
Performs administrative duties such as drafting letters, processing forms, and maintaining records and files, such as those pertaining to admissions and awards.
Checks files to ensure completeness.
Investigates and resolves moderately complex problems related to issues such as registration, eligibility, fee appeals, fee assessment errors, rejected student payments, and student installment and tuition plans.
Evaluates transcripts for eligibility assessment.
Interprets University and department policies and procedures, and provides guidance and interpretation of same to students, faculty and staff.
Coordinates new student orientation and graduation.
