Sessional Instructor – EDUC 500, Summer Term 1 2019

The Department of Educational Studies has an opening for a sessional instructor to teach EDUC 500 (Research Methodology in Education) during Summer Term 1 (May 6 to June 20, 2019).  The class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4.30-7.30 p.m.

This course is an overview of methodological approaches to research in education.  It surveys research issues and techniques in a manner intended to assist the student in selecting a limited number of research methods and strategies for more intensive study.  This course is intended to familiarize students with methods for the conduct of research in education; describe resources for the conduct of research; offer student assignments that take into account their personal research interests.

We will be requiring both quantitative and qualitative methodologists, therefore applicants should mention their quantitative or qualitative backgrounds and experience.

To be eligible to teach this course, applicants must hold a doctoral degree in the relevant discipline.

Course instructor duties may include teaching; holding regular office hours; marking assignments and exams; reporting grades and attending orientation meetings as well as follow-up sessions, where applicable.
