Sharon is a PhD candidate in Educational Studies. Her work emphasizes critical approaches to the social foundations and political economy of higher education, with an emphasis on US and Canadian contexts. Drawing on de-/post-/anti-colonial and critical ethnic studies, in her dissertation project she reads current patterns of internationalization and privatization/marketization of higher education through transnational colonial histories in order to trace the possibilities and limitations of divergent imaginaries of (global) justice in the contemporary moment.
