Hakka House is a base for cultural grounding and community work, dedicated to independent voices and collaborative organizing. Chinatown and Downtown Eastside neighbourhoods are facing historical and ongoing colonialism, racism, gentrification, cultural erasure, gender-based oppression, intense policing, among many other struggles. Within that context of struggle, Hakka House seeks to contribute to a resilient community space for knowledge sharing and meeting among folks who are passionate about justice locally and transnationally.
