The Department of Educational Studies is inviting applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach sections of the following courses. Some of these courses (not specified yet) will be assigned to current lecturers of the department.

To be eligible to teach courses at a 300 or 400 level, applicants must hold a masters or doctoral degree or have been admitted to candidacy in a doctoral program. Preference is given to applicants with PhD (or ABD) degree in adult education or in a field/discipline relevant to the course title.  Experience teaching in an online environment is preferred. There will be approximately 30 students enrolled in these courses.


Course instructor duties may include some or all of the following: familiarizing yourself with the course management system, updating course materials and assignments, monitoring and directing online discussions, teaching, preparation and involvement in discussion periods and tutorials; marking assignments and exams; providing feedback to students; being available during “office hours”; academic counselling of students; exam invigilation duties; and reporting grades.

Please note that, as per the Germaine Agreement on the conditions of appointment for sessional and part-time faculty members (February 29, 2012), doctoral candidates and applicants with completed masters or doctoral degrees will be adjudicated together in one pool of applications


All positions are subject to enrollment minimums and budgetary approval, and are governed by

Part 7 of the Collective Agreement on Conditions of Appointments for Sessional Faculty Members the remuneration for the assignment will be paid at the sessional pay scale at
