Career Mentor

Do you have a few years of experience in a career in education? Join the event as a career mentor and share about your career narratives, paths, and experiences. All stories are welcome including stories of success and struggles. Expand your professional network, connect with your colleagues and give back to your community.

Career Mentee

Are you looking for a career in education? Join us as a career mentee and ask questions to people who have work experience in your preferred education sector.

Career Mentor and Mentee (Mentor/tee)

Have you worked in the education sector but are also interested in learning about other careers in education and expanding your professional network? Join us as a Career Mentor/tee. Ask questions, share your experiences and connect with colleagues. All experiences are welcome including looking for work or transferring between jobs or fields.

This day stems from a desire of students to explore alternative career paths in education (outside of academia) and to build networks that relate to their field of study. Few resources can target this exploration better than our alumni and graduate students who have work experience in education.

This event aims to bring together education graduate students and alumni to share their career narratives, experiences, questions, struggles, day-to-day roles, how they reached those positions, and how they were mentored and supported in their career paths. The event is open to people who work (or seek to work) in careers in education, such as in the non-profit sector, government, higher education, educational leadership in K-12 sector, or for-profit sector.

We hope that this event will become one in a series of many that bring together students and alumni in the Education field. We also hope that it would foster connections and inspire direction in thinking about possible career pathways.

Special thanks to our volunteers: Abraham Addy, Amal Ballu (alumni), Isaac Gyan, Naila Ismayilova, and Xianghua Kong
