Call for Student Reps

Once again, we are sending out the call for student representatives to serve on department committees. The following committees are in need of student reps:

  • Program committees (Program Committee representatives are also encouraged to represent the program at bi-monthly department meetings):
    • Adult & Higher Education (ADHE) Courses
    • ADHE Courses Professional Development
    • Adult Learning & Global Change (ALGC)
    • Educational Admin, & Leadership (EDAL)
    • Society, Culture, & Politics in Education (SCPE)
  • MA representative for Joint PHD/MA Management & Admissions Committee
  • EdD in Educational Policy and Leadership Management & Admissions Committee
  • PhD and MA representative for the Graduate Programs Advisory Curriculum Committee

EDAL Student Rep needed!

We are calling for a student representative to serve on the Educational Administration and Leadership (EDAL) program committee starting this September. As a student rep, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and network with the faculty members and the students in the program of EDAL, and share your insights and voice on the operation of the EDAL program. Your participation involves attending the monthly EDAL meetings (every Thursday of the month), reaching out to the EDAL students, and sharing their input and feedback with the EDAL committee. Your participation and input will help us to provide better support to the students in the EDAL program and beyond. If you are in the EDAL program and interested in being an EDAL rep or would like to know more about the volunteer position, please get in touch with the EDAL Program Coordinator Dr. Fei Wang (fei.wang@ubc.ca) . Thank you for your consideration.

EDST GAA Feedback!

As we come to the end of the academic year, and the start of a shiny new one, we would like to ask you how we (the GAAs) have been doing so far. We’ve put together a quick survey and we would really appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to fill it out to let us know what has worked, what hasn’t, how we could do better, what’s missing, and what you’d like to see more of. You can find the survey here:

Also, if you have time, please feel free to share this link with other EDST graduate students. We know not everybody has time to read the newsletter, and we want to get as much feedback as possible. Thanks in advance from the whole GAA team!
