Jo-ann Archibald Q’um Q’um Xiiem, Indigenous scholar and Educational Studies Emeritus Professor, is leading a new project “Educational Studies and the UBC Emeritus College: Working Together.” The project is multi-faceted and at a beginning phase. An Indigenous Graduate Academic Assistant will assist in the following ways:
- Communication with Educational Studies emeriti members
- Assist with organizing research and educational workshops and events
- Assist with organizing an Indigenous faculty mentoring program
- Document various meetings, events and projects through digital and other mediums
Minimum Qualifications:
-Educational Studies Indigenous graduate student currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program
-Knowledge of Indigenous worldviews and direct experience with Indigenous communities and/or organizations in Canada
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to tailor information to the interests of Educational Studies emeritus members, current faculty, and graduate students.
-Experience with writing and posting material on web sites and other digital media
