The Department of Educational Studies invites applications for Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) for the Winter Session 2025/2026

Available sections:

Approximately 64 hours per section

EDST 401 – Education, School and Social Institutions (English): 10 sections

EDST 401 – Education, School and Social Institutions (French): 2 sections

Approximately 64 hours per section

ADHE 328 – Institutions of Adult Education: 3 sections

ADHE 329 – Developing Short Courses, Workshops & Seminars: 2 sections

ADHE 330 – The Community Practice of Adult Education:  2 sections

Approximately 26 hours per section

EDST 403 – Education, Knowledge, and Curriculum: 7 sections

Approximately 44 hours per section

EDST 403 – Education, Knowledge, and Curriculum: 1 section

Approximately 64 hours per section

ADHE 328 – Institutions of Adult Education: 1 section

ADHE 329 – Developing Short Courses, Workshops & Seminars: 2 sections

ADHE 412 –An Overview of Adult Education: 2 sections

Duties: Tasks for these positions will include; attending planning meetings; assisting the instructor with the preparation and distribution of materials, maintaining class records, library research related to the course, leading discussion groups, grading assignments, making class presentations, and/or other tasks involved in course preparation and delivery as assigned by the instructor.

Salary: $38.65-$40.16/hour per the CUPE 2278 Salary Scale.

Qualifications: At minimum, candidates must have advanced training and/or be enrolled in a relevant master’s degree or doctoral degree. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively is also required.  

Two sections of 401 require French – please indicate on your application if you are interested in these sections.

Eligibility: To be eligible for a Graduate Teaching Assistant position, applicants must be registered as a full-time student at UBC.
