Yu Guo is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Educational Studies with extensive experience as a higher education practitioner in Canada. She is an SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship recipient and a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC). Her research interests lie in media representations of Canadian Post-Secondary Institutions (PSIs) and international students, the intricate relationships between international students and (im)migration, and recruitment, marketing, and branding strategies aimed at international students in Canadian (PSIs) through critical lenses such as decoloniality and Critical Discourse Studies. She was born and raised in Mainland China and has two young children. Outside of academic life, she enjoys photography and traveling.
