Bio

Jingmei Li is an Associate Professor at Northeast Normal University in China, affiliated with the China Institute of Rural Education Development — a key research institution in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences under the Ministry of Education.

Her research focuses on rural education, with specific expertise in rural children’s development, rural teacher professional development, school quality improvement in rural areas, and rural education policy analysis.

Jingmei currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the 3rd Council of the Rural Education Specialized Committee under the Chinese Society of Education. With over a decade of extensive research and field investigation experience in rural education, she has conducted studies across over 100 rural schools spanning more than 10 provinces in China, thus developing an in-depth understanding of the current status, challenges, and development needs of rural education. Her current work centers on enhancing the quality of schooling in rural communities.
