Mahfida Tahniat is a PhD student in the Department of Educational Studies (EDST) at the University of British Columbia. As a Climate Solutions Scholar (2025-2026), her research focuses on creative solutions from a global South lens to enrich the ongoing discourse on critical place-rooted pedagogies within the climate justice context. She wants to explore how the community engages with the intricacies of climate complicity and relationality. Before joining the EDST community, as a GREAT Scholar, she completed her second MA in Education, Gender and International Development from the Department of Education, Practice and Society at the Institute of Education, University College London, UK.
