Mahfida Tahniat is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Educational Studies (EDST) at the University of British Columbia. Her research focus is on place-based and land-based education programs in Canada that engage with climate change education. As a Climate Solutions Scholar, her research explores creative responses from a global South lens to enrich the ongoing climate justice discourse and how communities navigate the complexities of climate complicity and relationality. Before joining the EDST community, as a UCL-GREAT Scholar, she completed her second MA in Education, Gender and International Development from the Institute of Education, University College London, UK.
