David Warkentin, EdD Candidate
David lives and works on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territory of the Stó:lō people, specifically the Máthxwi and Semá:th First Nations (also known as Abbotsford). As a settler educator and researcher, David endeavors to walk in a good way with these people and places. He is developing curriculum research that draws from critical place-based and Indigenous land-based and explores areas of unlearning and renewing relationship in Fraser Valley higher education. His project is tentatively titled, “Unsettling the Fraser Valley: Decolonization and Education in Stó:lō Téméxw.” David currently works as a Co-op Coordinator at the University of the Fraser Valley.
